Brecon sits in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog, and its gardens know about weather. A lawn that is soaked for half the year can be more work than pleasure. Artificial grass offers a neat, green alternative that looks right beside a stone-built house. We are happy to walk the garden with you and talk through where it will work.
We carry out the whole job ourselves. The old turf is lifted, a solid base is built and the new grass is laid, fixed and brushed in. Everything left over goes with us, so your garden is clean and ready to use.

Many houses in Brecon have large gardens, some bordering farmland or old field boundaries, and a lot of grass to look after. Replacing part or all of the lawn lets you keep the space open and green without the weekly mowing or the soggy patches near the back door. It is a sensible fix for gardens that sit low, beside the canal or river, where the grass seldom has a chance to dry.
Not everyone wants the whole garden covered, and we do not suggest it. Often the strongest result keeps real planting and trees, with artificial grass laid where the wear is heaviest, such as play areas, dog runs and the route from house to shed. We will talk through the balance. That approach often looks more natural, and keeps the garden feeling alive.

The Usk valley is damp, so drainage matters more than anything. We dig out the old turf and soft ground, then lay a sub-base that is compacted in layers and set to a fall. Water passes through the turf and away, rather than lying on the surface. We also check where water arriving from field boundaries or higher ground will go, so it does not collect against your Brecon walls.
Over this goes a weed membrane, then the grass, which is cut neatly around beds, paths and the corners of the lawn. We fix the edges firmly and brush the pile up, so the lawn looks natural from the house. The preparation takes the time, and it is what makes the result last. A tidy finish against stone walls and gravel paths is something we take pride in.
Aftercare in Brecon is simple: brush it now and again, clear leaves from nearby trees and rinse off if it gets muddy. Colour and pile height can be chosen to suit your garden, and we can bring samples. We also cover Talybont-on-Usk, Libanus, Sennybridge and Llanfrynach, so villages around the town are within easy reach. Sennybridge and Libanus gardens often face stronger weather, which we allow for.
A few jobs we have completed. We also work in and around Brecon.

Artificial grass suits small, shady or well-used gardens that are tiresome to mow, provided it is laid on a properly prepared, well-drained base.

How long artificial grass lasts depends on the product, the base beneath it, how heavily it is used and how well it is looked after.

Tree surgery is priced job by job rather than from a fixed list, so this guide explains what moves the cost up or down and how to get a firm figure.

Very well if the base is right. A compacted, free-draining sub-base and a slight fall let water pass through the turf. The surface stays usable when a natural lawn would be waterlogged and churned up. That matters in a valley town like Brecon.
Yes, and many people do. We can lay artificial grass where the wear is worst and leave real lawn, borders and trees elsewhere, with a clean edge between them so the two areas look planned. Adding a border or planter later is easy.
