Power washing, also called pressure washing, lifts algae, moss, dirt and grime from hard surfaces and shows what they looked like before they went green and slippery. We clean patios, driveways, block paving, decking, paths, steps and walls for homes, landlords and businesses across South Wales, and we take care over every surface we wash. We agree what needs washing before we begin.
It is a satisfying job, and it suits anyone whose outdoor surfaces have gone dull and slick. Care matters, though, because the wrong pressure on the wrong surface can do real harm instead of good. We aim to leave surfaces clean, tidy and safe to walk on.

Damp, mild weather means algae and moss build up quickly on paving, steps and decking, and a green film can make surfaces genuinely slippery. Driveways pick up oil marks and dirt, block paving fills with weeds and silt, and walls darken under a layer of grime. A proper wash usually makes a big difference to how a property looks and feels. Cleaning also helps you see whether paving is sound.
It is a good move before a house sale, at the end of a tenancy, ahead of a garden party or simply when you are tired of looking at a patio that has gone black. It is also sensible before sealing or re-sanding paving, since those jobs need a clean, dry surface to work on. Putting the wash first gives any sealer something proper to bond to.

We look at the surfaces with you first and agree the work and the cost before we begin. We check what each surface is made of, because concrete, block paving, timber decking and soft natural stone all need different handling. Then we protect plants, doors and anything that should not get wet, and wash from the top down so dirt runs away from clean areas. Windows and door frames get the same care as the plants.
When we have finished, we clear up the loosened debris and leave the area tidy. If you want block paving re-sanded or a surface sealed afterwards, we can talk it through with you. It makes sense to do that after cleaning, once the surface has dried out properly and any weeds have been dealt with. We tell you honestly if a surface looks too fragile for the work.

Valley terraces often have small yards and steps in shaded spots where algae thrives, while coastal gardens collect salt, sand and wind-blown dirt. Older properties may have soft stone or aged mortar that cannot take hard pressure, and sloping drives need washing carefully so water drains the right way. Overhanging trees also drop leaves and sap that stain paving. Steep or stepped gardens also affect how we run hoses and set up safely.
Before work starts, tell us about anything fragile, such as loose paving, crumbling pointing, painted surfaces or soft stone. Move cars, furniture and pots out of the way if you can. Keep in mind that cleaning can show up existing wear, and that moss and algae may return in damp, shaded places over time. Washing again every so often keeps them looking good. We can suggest a sensible interval.

Most South Wales patios need a proper clean about once a year, though shade, damp and nearby trees can mean more often or a little less.

There is no single perfect month for every tree, but winter suits many species, and this guide shows how timing, nesting birds and weather affect the choice.

Yes, but decking needs a gentler approach than concrete, because high pressure can raise the grain and damage the timber. We use lower pressure and the right technique, working along the boards, to lift algae and grime without harming the surface. It leaves the boards sound.
Yes, if you want it. Once block paving or a patio is clean and dry, the joints can be re-sanded and the surface sealed to help keep it looking tidy. Let us know when we look at the job and we will talk through what suits your surface.
Not necessarily. We will agree the work and access with you first, and we need to know where water is available and what to protect. Many customers leave us to it and check the finished surfaces afterwards. Just tell us what you would like moved beforehand.
