Mountain weather and long, wet winters leave their mark on outdoor surfaces. In Abertillery we power wash patios, back-garden paths, steps, driveways, walls and decking, taking off the moss, algae and dirt that build up and leave stone and concrete dark, greasy and slippery. The result is a clean surface that is safer to walk on.
Many properties here are terraced, with compact back gardens and steps up or down. We also work in Brynithel, Cwmtillery, Blaina and Six Bells. We protect plants, doors and neighbouring walls as we go, and we choose pressure to suit what the surface is made from.

The Ebbw Fach valley is steep and wooded, and the weather coming off the mountain keeps surfaces wet for long stretches. In a small sloping back garden that means shaded steps, concrete paths and retaining walls often go green, and a film of algae on a step can be a real hazard once there is any frost or rain. Moss in the joints holds water against the stone.
Terraced streets in Abertillery usually have little sunshine reaching the back of the house, so there is less chance for paving to dry out. Regular cleaning helps keep steps and paths safe and stops moss from working into joints and cracks, where it can slowly lift edges and make the surface uneven over time. That keeps repairs down the line smaller. Small jobs done often cost less effort.

In Abertillery access can be limited, so we bring compact equipment and, where there is no side passage, take hoses through the house with dust sheets down if you agree. Water is taken from your outside tap where we can. Steps are cleaned from the top down, and we keep spray low near doors and windows. Hoses are kept tidy. Water use is kept sensible.
Plants and pots are moved or covered, and we check old pointing on walls and steps before we start, since loose mortar can wash out under pressure. Soft or crumbling surfaces are cleaned more gently. When the work is done we rinse the area and sweep the debris up, so the garden is left tidy. You can check the finish with us.
Once a patio or path in your Abertillery garden is clean, a little care stops the green returning so quickly. Brush leaves away, clear gutters that overflow onto paving, and sweep occasionally. If you would like, we can re-sand block paving joints or apply a sealer after cleaning, though that is a choice, not a necessity. We are happy to explain either.
A few jobs we have completed. We also work in and around Abertillery.
Power WashingWe pressure washed the red block paving at the back of a brick house in Pontypool, then began applying a seal.

Hedge TrimmingOvergrown hedges, a leaning conifer and tall boundary growth along a narrow lane, tackled as one hedge trimming project in Abertillery.

Most South Wales patios need a proper clean about once a year, though shade, damp and nearby trees can mean more often or a little less.

There is no single perfect month for every tree, but winter suits many species, and this guide shows how timing, nesting birds and weather affect the choice.

Yes, if you are happy for us to run hoses through. We lay protective sheets, keep wet equipment away from floors, and clean up afterwards. If you would rather we did not, tell us when you get in touch and we will work out another way.
In shaded, damp spots it can, since the conditions have not changed. Cleaning removes what is there and gives a fresh start, and sweeping leaves and keeping drainage clear helps slow regrowth. Regular maintenance washes are quicker than tackling a long-neglected path.
