On steep, wooded ground like much of Chepstow, a green path is more than an eyesore. It is a slip waiting to happen. We use power washing to clear algae, moss and ground-in dirt from steps, paths, patios, driveways, block paving, decking and walls, so that they look better and give your feet something to grip.
Period houses and mature trees are part of what makes this area attractive, and they are also why surfaces stay damp and shaded. We plan each wash around the material underneath, protect plants and doors, and leave things tidy. We also cover Tutshill, Mathern, Caerwent and Shirenewton, so just ask if you are nearby.

Chepstow sits on the edge of the Wye Valley, where the ground rises quickly and trees crowd many gardens. Leaves and twigs collect on steps and terraced paths, hold water against the stone, and feed a layer of green growth. Steps that are used every day, especially those at the front door or down to a back garden, are usually the first to get slippery.
Washing these areas is a job where the order matters. We start at the top of a slope or flight of steps and work downhill, so loosened dirt never runs back over a surface we have just cleaned. We take extra care around retaining walls and edges, and we clear the debris from drains and gullies so water has somewhere to go afterwards.

Many older Chepstow homes have original paving, stone steps and boundary walls that have weathered for a long time. Some of that material is hard and forgiving, and some is soft and easily scarred. We check first, begin at a low pressure and only increase it where the surface can take it, so you keep the character of the stone and lose only the grime.
Modern patios, block paving and driveways get a firmer wash, and decking is cleaned along the grain. If the joints on your paving have emptied, we can re-sand them and seal the surface after cleaning, which slows weeds and moss from coming straight back. We will explain the options clearly and you decide whether you want them, with no pressure either way. We always check the result as we go.
Access can be awkward on steep plots, so tell us about narrow gates, flights of steps and where the nearest tap is when you get in touch. That lets us bring the right equipment and plan the route through your garden. We protect plants and doors before we begin, wash methodically, and clear away afterwards, so you are left with clean, safer surfaces around your Chepstow home.
A few jobs we have completed. We also work in and around Chepstow.
We work across South Wales. Pick your town to see how power washing works locally.

Most South Wales patios need a proper clean about once a year, though shade, damp and nearby trees can mean more often or a little less.

There is no single perfect month for every tree, but winter suits many species, and this guide shows how timing, nesting birds and weather affect the choice.
Read the guide →Yes, when it is done carefully. We work from the top downward, keep our footing secure and control the run-off so it does not pool on the steps. Once the green film is gone, the surface gives much better grip, though wet stone can still be slippery.
Usually, yes. We check the type of stone and the condition of the mortar, then start gently. Where pointing is crumbling we will point it out before washing, because strong water can loosen it further. We would rather advise you than cause damage.
Shade and leaf fall do encourage regrowth, so some return is natural over time. Clearing leaves regularly and letting surfaces dry helps. Sealing after cleaning can also slow it down, and we can talk you through whether that suits your paving.
