Brecon has plenty of stone-built houses with large gardens, and the paths, terraces and driveways around them collect moss, lichen and green film year after year. We power wash patios, paving, drives, steps, walls and decking in Brecon, lifting the growth and dirt and bringing the original surface back into view.
Because so much here is natural stone, we pay close attention to pressure and technique. We also work in Talybont-on-Usk, Libanus, Sennybridge and Llanfrynach. Plants, doors and nearby windows are protected, and we explain what we can safely clean before we start work.

Old limestone, sandstone and flagstones can look wonderful, but they are not all equally hard. Some are soft enough to pit or lose their face if the pressure is too high, and mortar between them may be weak. So we start low, test a small area and increase only if the surface can take it. Lichen on old stone is slow to lift and may need a second pass.
Brecon sits in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog, and the damp mountain air, river mist and shade from garden trees keep stonework wet. Moss and algae settle quickly on terraces and steps, making them slippery. A careful clean removes that growth without stripping the character from the stone, which is what most owners here want. We would sooner take longer than leave marks.

In Brecon, larger plots often mean long gravel-edged paths, wide terraces and extended driveways. We work through them in sections, using a surface cleaner on big flat areas and a hand lance around edges, steps and walls. Loose weeds are cleared from the joints, and we sweep the debris away as we go. Gravel edges are protected from being blown about. Water pressure is adjusted as we go.
Before starting we cover or move plants, protect door thresholds and keep spray away from windows. Farmland edges and field boundaries mean mud and organic matter are common on hard standing, and these wash away readily. Where a surface is too fragile for pressure, we suggest a gentler way, or leave it alone. You will know where we stand before any water is used.
Once stone or block paving in your Brecon garden has dried, fresh sand or jointing material can be brushed into the gaps, which helps keep it stable. Some owners also like a sealer to slow the return of moss. We can offer both after cleaning if you want them, though some natural stone is better left to breathe, and we will say so.
A few jobs we have completed. We also work in and around Brecon.
We work across South Wales. Pick your town to see how power washing works locally.

Most South Wales patios need a proper clean about once a year, though shade, damp and nearby trees can mean more often or a little less.

There is no single perfect month for every tree, but winter suits many species, and this guide shows how timing, nesting birds and weather affect the choice.

Many drives can be done in a single visit, depending on length, surface and how heavily they have grown over. We will look at photos or the drive itself and tell you whether it needs more than one day before we start.
