Gardens in Brecon are often bigger than those in a typical town, and that makes it easy for part of them to slip out of control. We clear overgrown borders, brambles, ivy, fallen branches, old sheds and rubbish, load the waste onto our vehicle and take it away, so you get your space back without a skip in the drive.
The town sits in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog, with farmland and field boundaries close by, so our work ranges from tidy town plots to rambling rural gardens. Homeowners, landlords and anyone selling a property are all welcome to describe the job.
A large garden can get on top of anyone, especially one behind a stone-built house where the lawns, beds and orchard corners have each grown a little further than planned. When we arrive in Brecon we start by walking the whole plot with you, agreeing which areas are to be cleared completely, which should simply be cut back, and which features, such as a favourite tree or an old wall, are staying exactly as they are.
Then we work through it step by step. Brambles are cut and dug out, nettles and docks are cleared, woody shrubs are taken down to the base, and fallen branches are sawn up and loaded. Doing it in a sensible order stops us trampling the parts you want to keep, and it means each area is finished and loaded out before we move to the next.
Many properties around Brecon back onto farmland, or are bounded by old hedges and field walls. Over time those boundaries creep inwards. Hawthorn, blackthorn and bramble reach across lawns, and ivy takes hold of walls and fence posts. We cut this growth back to the line you want, take out the thickest stems at the base where we can, and remove all the cuttings from the garden.
Where a boundary hedge has simply become too wide or too tall, we can trim it as part of the clearance, or talk through hedge work as a job in its own right once the worst of the growth is gone. We take care near neighbouring land, gates and livestock fencing, and we let you know if something needs a conversation with the owner next door before we cut.
When we finish, the garden should be clean, accessible and ready for whatever you plan, whether that is a lawn, a vegetable plot, paving or new fencing. Nothing is left stacked at the end of the garden or behind the shed.
