Gardens in Pontypool are rarely flat. Many sit on hillsides, with steps, banks and retaining walls, and when they are left alone the growth takes over quickly. We clear brambles, weeds, saplings, old fencing and household rubbish from back gardens, side plots and front areas, then take everything away with us.
Our work covers the town and nearby places such as Griffithstown and Trevethin. If you are not sure how much of the plot is worth keeping, we can look at it together and agree what should be cleared first.

Clearing a sloping garden is slower and more careful than clearing a flat one. Footing matters, and loose soil or wet leaves can make steps slippery. We cut back growth from the top of the slope where we can, work down in sections and keep the waste moving to the vehicle rather than letting it pile up on the bank, which only makes the next stage harder.
Brambles and ivy often grip steep ground tightly, and pulling them can loosen the surface, so we cut first and then lift what comes away cleanly, leaving the soil as undisturbed as we can. Where roots are holding a bank together in Pontypool, we will tell you before removing them, so you can decide whether to leave them for now. Nothing structural is touched without you knowing.

Edge-of-town and hillside gardens often have woodland close by, and seedlings of sycamore, ash and bramble arrive every year. Left unchecked, they form a thicket in a few seasons. We cut the growth back, bag the smaller material and remove the larger branches and stems, so you can see the shape of the garden again, including the steps and edges that may have vanished under the growth.
Alongside the green waste, there is usually other clutter: collapsed sheds, rotten fence panels, broken greenhouses, old paving and bags of rubbish pushed behind the shrubs. We can dismantle and carry these out too, which means the Pontypool garden is properly cleared rather than only cut back and left looking half done. Nothing is dumped in a corner for later, and the loose debris is raked up before we leave.
Once the plot is clear, you can see what you have. Some people in Pontypool then want a simple lawn, others a patio, new fencing or a few raised beds. We can leave the ground in a fit state for that work, and if you would like us to carry on with it ourselves, we are happy to talk through the options with you.

The cost of garden clearance depends on how much there is to remove, how easily it can be reached and what has to be taken away.

A gravel garden can cut mowing and weeding, but only if the ground is cleared and prepared properly first, and the planning matters more than the stones.

Tree surgery is priced job by job rather than from a fixed list, so this guide explains what moves the cost up or down and how to get a firm figure.
Read the guide →Yes, we work on sloping plots regularly. We take extra care on steps and banks, cut in sections and carry the waste out by hand where needed. It can take more effort than a flat garden, so we look at access first.
We cut the brambles right back and remove as much of the root crown as we can reach. Very old roots may regrow, so we will explain what to expect and whether any follow-up cutting later in the year would help.
Yes. Some customers only want a back corner, a side passage or the front plot cleared. Tell us the area and what should stay, and we will clear that section and leave the rest of the garden as it is.
