Cardiff has leafy suburbs, tall Victorian and Edwardian houses and a great many mature garden trees. It also has plenty of gardens that have been left for a season too long. We clear overgrown borders, ivy, brambles, old sheds and rubbish, load the waste ourselves and take it away, leaving the plot ready to use.
Our clients include homeowners, landlords, letting agents and people selling a house. Some gardens are small and need a quick, firm tidy, while others are large and need several days. Whichever it is, we explain what we plan to do before we start.

Larger houses in Cardiff often have gardens with substantial planting: old laurel hedges, conifers that have outgrown their positions and thick beds of ivy. When these are left, they cast deep shade, block paths and fill with fallen leaves and litter. Getting through them in Cardiff means cutting in sections, working carefully near walls, drains and neighbouring plots, and carrying the heavy material out rather than dragging it across lawns and borders.
If a tree is the real problem, we will say so. Clearance deals with what is on the ground, while large trees may need proper tree surgery, and we can discuss that as a separate job. In many cases, though, simply opening up the base of a hedge or border and removing the smothering growth and rubbish transforms how a garden looks and feels, and it makes any later tree work easier.

Parts of Cardiff are conservation areas, and others are tight terraces where the only route to the garden is through the house or a shared alley. We take access seriously, and we plan the route before we start cutting. Waste is carried out in suitable loads, floors and walls are protected where needed, and we leave the route as clean as we found it, so the house itself is not left with a trail of soil and leaves.
Where trees are protected, we do not touch them, and we will say so if one looks as though it might be. Clearance focuses on shrubs, weeds, rubbish and structures, and if you are unsure whether a tree has any protection, you should check with the council before any work on it. We are happy to agree exactly what is included before we begin, so there are no surprises on the day.
Cardiff customers usually want one contractor to cut, clear and remove, rather than hire several different people for each stage. That is what we do, from the first cut to the last sweep of the path. We also work in Llandaff, Whitchurch, Rhiwbina, St Mellons, Pontprennau and Penylan, so tell us where you are and what the garden is like, and we will work out the details with you.

The cost of garden clearance depends on how much there is to remove, how easily it can be reached and what has to be taken away.

A gravel garden can cut mowing and weeding, but only if the ground is cleared and prepared properly first, and the planning matters more than the stones.

Tree surgery is priced job by job rather than from a fixed list, so this guide explains what moves the cost up or down and how to get a firm figure.
Read the guide →We can clear weeds, shrubs, rubbish and structures in most gardens. Trees can be a different matter, as some are protected, so please check with the council about any tree first. We do not remove protected trees without the correct permission in place.
Yes. We carry waste through the house or along shared routes in manageable loads, protect floors where we need to and keep disturbance as low as we can. Tell us about the access when you call so we can plan the work properly.
Yes. Landlords and agents often ask us to tidy several properties in turn. Send the addresses and a short description of each garden, and we will talk through how and when the work could be done, one property after another.
