Carmarthen is the county town of Carmarthenshire, a market town on the River Towy with farmland spreading out on every side. Stone houses with big gardens are common, and field hedges and mature trees run along many boundaries. That gives us a wide range of tree work, from a single oak over a lawn to long lines of boundary trees.
We carry out sectional felling, crown reductions, deadwood removal and clearing of fallen trees. Our area also takes in Llangunnor, Johnstown, Nantgaredig and Abergwili, so homes on the edge of town or out in the Towy valley are as welcome as those in the centre.

Larger gardens around Carmarthen often have space that town plots lack, and trees there can grow into broad, heavy crowns. That is not always a problem, but a spreading limb over a roof, a lane or a livestock field deserves attention. Shaping the crown, taking off weight and removing dead wood can keep a good tree in place and reduce the risk beneath it.
When the whole tree needs to come down, extra space can mean the job is more straightforward, though we still prefer controlled sectional dismantling near buildings. We look at overhead lines, fences and any stock or animals nearby, and we agree where vehicles and chippers will be parked. Access along a farm track or a narrow lane is something we plan for in advance.

Many trees in the Carmarthen area stand on a boundary, in a hedge line or beside a field, and it is not always obvious who owns them. Before we cut, we will want to know whose land the tree stands on and whether the neighbour agrees. It is far easier to sort that out first than to deal with a disagreement after the branches are on the ground.
We also check for protection by asking the local council about Tree Preservation Orders and any conservation area status. Hedgerows and old trees around the Towy valley provide homes for nesting birds and bats, so we look for signs of both. If we find an active nest, we leave it undisturbed, explain what that means for the job, and talk through when the work can sensibly go ahead.
Open farmland offers little shelter, and winter storms in the Towy valley can bring down limbs or whole trees across drives, lanes and fences. If a tree is endangering a building or blocking the way, we treat it as an emergency call-out and make it safe first. After every job, we take away the timber and green waste, and leave your Carmarthen garden or field edge tidy.
A few jobs we have completed. We also work in and around Carmarthen.
We work across South Wales. Pick your town to see how tree surgery works locally.

Tree surgery is priced job by job rather than from a fixed list, so this guide explains what moves the cost up or down and how to get a firm figure.

Most trees are perfectly safe, but certain signs suggest a tree is weakened, and knowing what to look for helps you act before something falls.

Stay calm, keep clear of the tree and any cables, and call for help, because a fallen tree can still be unstable and dangerous long after the wind drops.
Read the guide →Yes. We deal with fallen trees across tracks, gateways and lanes, cutting them into manageable pieces and clearing them away. We look at how the tree is lying first, as trunks under tension can be unpredictable, and make the area safe before sawing.
Usually the owner of the land where the trunk grows, though boundaries can be unclear. We suggest checking your deeds or talking to the neighbour before any cutting. We can then carry out the agreed work, and explain what is realistic if ownership is shared.
Yes. We cover the surrounding villages such as Llangunnor, Johnstown, Nantgaredig and Abergwili, and properties out in the Towy valley. Describe where you are and what the tree is like, and we will arrange to come and look at it.
Tell us what needs doing and where. We will come back to you, or call 07766 919630 if it is urgent.
