Plenty of gardens around Carmarthen are large, and a big lawn can take hours every week to keep tidy. Artificial grass is a sensible answer for the parts you would rather not mow. We lift the old turf, build a proper base, lay the new grass and finish the edges so the whole area looks neat and stays green through the year.
The work suits children's play space, shady corners where real grass struggles, and small yards behind the town centre houses. We will look at the ground, talk through what you want, and tell you plainly whether artificial grass is the right choice for your garden.

Carmarthen sits in the Towy valley with farmland close by, so many gardens here are generous in size and run into field hedges. That space is lovely, but a lawn that sees heavy shade from mature trees or soaks up winter rain can turn patchy and muddy. Artificial grass removes that cycle, because the surface does not depend on light, mowing or reseeding.
Many people keep a real lawn for the open part of the garden and put artificial grass where it is hardest to maintain, such as under a tree, beside the house or along a path. We are happy to plan a mix like that. It keeps the character of a larger rural plot while cutting the weekly workload, and the join between the two can be edged so it looks deliberate.

The finished look depends on what is underneath. We strip off the old turf and roots, dig out to the depth needed and lay a sub-base that is compacted in layers. A weed membrane goes over the top, then a thin levelling layer is raked and compacted again so the surface is flat and free from dips that would show once the grass is down.
Next the turf is cut to shape, laid with the pile running one way and joined so the seams hardly show. We fix it along firm edging, secure it down and brush the fibres up with a stiff broom. Drainage matters throughout, so we check where water will run in your Carmarthen garden before any grass goes down, not afterwards, and we note any damp or low spots.
Artificial grass needs very little work, but a few habits help. Brush it now and then to lift the fibres, clear leaves and debris before they settle, and rinse off anything messy. We also cover nearby spots such as Johnstown, Llangunnor and Abergwili, so if you are close to Carmarthen, get in touch and we will arrange a visit to look at your garden.

Artificial grass suits small, shady or well-used gardens that are tiresome to mow, provided it is laid on a properly prepared, well-drained base.

How long artificial grass lasts depends on the product, the base beneath it, how heavily it is used and how well it is looked after.

Tree surgery is priced job by job rather than from a fixed list, so this guide explains what moves the cost up or down and how to get a firm figure.
Read the guide →It can, provided the base is built for it. We use a compacted, free draining sub-base and look at how water currently moves across your garden, because wet ground and heavy rain are common in this area. If a spot needs extra drainage, we will say so before starting.
Yes. Lots of customers keep real grass for the open area and swap just the shady, muddy or worn patch. We cut a clean edge between the two, so the change looks planned, and we can set the artificial area against beds or edging you already have.
We lift the old turf and take away the soil and waste we dig out as part of the job, so you are not left with piles to deal with. If you would like some soil kept for a flower bed, just tell us when we visit.
