Carmarthen is a market town with farmland on every side and the Towy valley running through it, so plenty of the gardens here are big and many of the trees in them are old. When one of those trees has to come down, we take it down safely, in sections or in one piece where there is space, and clear up properly afterwards.
Most of our Carmarthen felling calls are for dead, diseased, leaning or storm-damaged trees, along with conifers and shrubs that have simply outgrown their spot. Tell us what you have and we will say what is involved. Just send us the address and a few details about the tree.

Stone houses on the edge of Carmarthen often sit in generous plots, with a field hedge along one side and a mature oak, ash or sycamore somewhere near the house. Space helps, because a tree with a clear fall zone can sometimes be taken down in one piece. Where it cannot, we climb and dismantle it in sections, lowering each piece rather than dropping it.
Rural gardens bring their own questions. A tree may lean over a lane, lean towards a neighbour's shed, or have roots working under a wall or drain. We look at all of that on the visit, work out which way the tree wants to go, and plan the cut around the buildings, fences and lines that are actually there. If the tree is part of an old hedgerow or boundary line, we will also talk through what to do with the gap it leaves afterwards.

Some trees cannot simply be cut down. A Tree Preservation Order, or a conservation area designation, can mean the council has to agree first, and ignoring that is a risk no homeowner needs. We check the status with the local council before any work is booked, so you know where you stand before a saw is started. It is a short check, and it saves a great deal of trouble later on.
Woodland and field-edge trees can bring other rules too, so it is worth asking early. If your tree is in Carmarthen itself or out towards Llangunnor, Johnstown, Nantgaredig or Abergwili, give us the address and we will look at it with you before agreeing a plan. Trees along field edges, lanes and shared boundaries can also raise questions about who owns what, so it helps to know that before we start. We will go through it with you on the visit and keep the plan simple.
The job is not finished when the tree is on the ground. We log the timber and remove the green waste, and we can leave the stump cut low or have it ground out, whichever suits what you plan to do with the space. If you want logs kept for a stove, say so beforehand and we will leave them tidy at the edge of the garden in Carmarthen.

Often you can fell a garden tree freely, but protected trees and larger amounts of timber need checks first, and this guide explains who to ask.

Taking a tree down should rarely be the first choice, but sometimes it is the only responsible one, and knowing which situation you are in saves worry.

Tree surgery is priced job by job rather than from a fixed list, so this guide explains what moves the cost up or down and how to get a firm figure.

Often yes, though it needs care. We look at the lean, the roots and what is below, then choose between cutting it down in sections or felling it whole. A tree leaning at a building is rarely safe to rush.
The stump can be left cut low or ground out by arrangement. We log the timber and take away the green waste. If you would like the logs kept for burning, just tell us when we visit. That is entirely your choice and we will agree it before the work starts.
Tell us what needs doing and where. We will come back to you, or call 07766 919630 if it is urgent.
