This Cardiff back garden is shown after the removal work. Brick walls surround a lawn, a conservatory stands on the right, and the space that used to be filled with growth is now open. Hedge trimmers, a leaf blower and a few tools are lying on the grass, so the photo was taken at the end of the job.

The lawn is clear and the beds along the brick walls have been stripped back to bare soil and leaf litter. A few stumps are cut low near the walls. A bag of sand or aggregate, some old clay pipes and a bucket sit against the far wall, and a green bin stands to the left. Ivy still climbs the left-hand wall. In the foreground are a hedge trimmer, a petrol blower and other tools.
Felling trees and shrubs this close to a conservatory and boundary walls needs care. Branches are usually taken down in pieces and lowered rather than dropped, so nothing lands on glass or brickwork. Roots near walls are worth watching, and stumps are often cut low rather than dug out. It is also worth checking with the council for a Tree Preservation Order or conservation area before any cutting begins.
