A lawn in Cowbridge can be a big commitment. Many gardens on the edge of town are wide and open, backed by farmland, with hedges and tall trees marking the boundary. If you would like a large green area without the weekly mowing, or a tidy patch where children play, artificial grass is worth considering, and we can lay it properly.
Every job begins with a look at the garden. We check the levels, where water collects and what the lawn is used for, then explain what we would do, step by step, so you know how the finished surface will be built before work starts.

Gardens near Cowbridge often have space to spare, which brings choices. You might replace the whole lawn, or only the worn path to the shed, the area beneath a boundary tree, or the spot where a trampoline or goal sits and the grass gives up. Smaller artificial patches keep costs and disturbance down while solving the real problem. We will talk you through which option makes sense.
Mature boundary trees drop leaves and shade the ground, and field hedges on open edges can funnel wind and moisture across a lawn. Real grass in those conditions tends to go patchy. Artificial grass is steady, and a good edge where it meets lawn or border keeps the garden looking like one thought-out design. We can show you how the join will look before we start.

Everything we do comes back to preparation. The old turf is cut out, the soil is dug to depth and a sub-base goes in and is compacted. A weed membrane follows, then a thin layer to finish the levels. Only when that surface is firm and flat do we unroll the turf. Taking time here is what keeps the surface flat for years to come without any soft spots.
After cutting the turf to your Cowbridge garden's shape and joining the sections neatly, we fix it down along sturdy edging and brush the fibres up. Drainage is checked as we go, because water that cannot escape will cause trouble no matter how good the grass looks on the day it is laid. We also tidy the site and remove the waste.
Once the job is finished and the grass has settled, upkeep is light. A stiff brush lifts the fibres, a hose or bucket of water deals with spills, and leaves can be cleared by sweeping or blowing. We also look after nearby places such as Llanblethian, Llandough and St Hilary, so if you are outside Cowbridge itself, we are happy to travel. Just ask.

Artificial grass suits small, shady or well-used gardens that are tiresome to mow, provided it is laid on a properly prepared, well-drained base.

How long artificial grass lasts depends on the product, the base beneath it, how heavily it is used and how well it is looked after.

Tree surgery is priced job by job rather than from a fixed list, so this guide explains what moves the cost up or down and how to get a firm figure.

It is a popular choice for play areas and pets because it stays clean and does not turn to mud. Solid waste should be picked up and the surface rinsed, just as you would care for any outdoor area.
A compacted base, secure edging and proper fixing around the edges all keep it in place. We also join the seams carefully, so the grass lies flat and does not lift or ripple as people walk across it.
