Cwmbran was laid out as a planned town, and many of its homes share the same kind of frontage: a block-paved drive, a short path and a small patio behind. Those surfaces are hard-wearing, but over the seasons they darken with algae, moss and general road grime. We power wash driveways, paving, paths, steps, decking and walls, and bring them back to a clean, even colour.
Because estate frontages are visible to the whole street, a tired drive tends to stand out. We protect nearby plants, doors and parked cars nearby, work in steady passes, and leave the ground tidy. We also cover Llantarnam, Pontnewydd, Croesyceiliog, Henllys and Pontypool, so ask if you are close by.

Block paving is the surface we clean most often in Cwmbran, and it needs a measured hand. The blocks themselves are tough, but the sand between them is easily blasted out if the nozzle is too close or the pressure too high. Loose joints then let weeds in and let the blocks shift, so we adjust our technique to keep as much of the jointing as we can.
Avenues and open green spaces around the estates mean plenty of leaves, seeds and bird droppings landing on drives, and shaded corners beside hedges stay damp. That is where the green film and black spotting take hold first. A wash removes the surface layer and shows the true colour of the blocks, which often surprises people after years of thinking they had simply faded.

Once a block-paved drive has been cleaned, the joints often need topping up. We can re-sand them with a suitable jointing sand, brush it in until the gaps are full, and then seal the surface if you want to. Sealing is not compulsory, but it can help the paving resist oil marks, weeds and fresh algae, and it deepens the colour of the blocks.
We will always explain what we would do and why, and you can choose a wash on its own or a wash with sanding and sealing. Garden patios and paths around Cwmbran homes get the same attention, along with steps and low walls. Decking is cleaned along the grain, and we keep water clear of air bricks and doorways throughout. Nothing is added without your say-so.
If several homes along your Cwmbran street are thinking about cleaning their drives, tell us, as it often makes sense to plan visits together. Otherwise just describe what you have, the approximate size of your drive and patio, and where your outside tap sits. We will talk through the approach, agree what is included, and carry out the work with minimum disruption to the neighbours.

Most South Wales patios need a proper clean about once a year, though shade, damp and nearby trees can mean more often or a little less.

There is no single perfect month for every tree, but winter suits many species, and this guide shows how timing, nesting birds and weather affect the choice.

Light, recent marks often lift with washing, but old oil soaks into the surface and may never vanish completely. We will try what is sensible and be honest about what is left. We will not promise a spotless result on stubborn staining.
It can be, especially on block paving that sees traffic and shade. Sealing helps resist staining and slows weeds and algae. It does need the surface to be clean and dry first. We can explain how it would suit your drive.
