This Caerphilly job was in a small back garden hemmed in by houses. The photo shows a conservatory, a swing seat with a canopy, garden ornaments on artificial grass, a long-handled brush on the ground and thick green growth rising behind the seat, with overhead wires and washing lines above.

The photo was taken at the start or before the main cutting, and the finished result is not shown. The first thing it tells us is how tight the space is. Every ornament, plant pot and the conservatory glazing has to be protected, so cut material is lowered or carried out rather than dropped.
The photo also shows wires crossing above the garden. Anything near cables needs thought before a saw is started, and growth close to them may not be ours to cut at all. Overgrown evergreens should be reduced gradually rather than hacked back hard, since many will not regrow from bare brown wood.
