This Pontypridd job shows bamboo that had filled a raised planter beside a block wall and the same corner after we cleared it. The canes and growth have gone, leaving the planter and the boundary wall bare and tidy.

The first photo shows a thick clump of bamboo canes and leaves standing well above a wire-and-stone gabion planter, pressed right up against a concrete block wall. Washing hangs on the line beyond, which gives a sense of how close it grew to the neighbouring gardens.
In the second photo the planter is bare, the stones are visible again and the top of the wall is clear. The same corner now looks open and manageable instead of overgrown.
Bamboo spreads by underground stems called rhizomes, so cutting the canes at ground level is rarely enough. For a lasting result the clump has to be cut down and the roots and rhizomes dug out as far as they can be followed, with any new shoots watched for afterwards.
If bamboo is growing near walls, patios or drains, it is worth having it looked at before it spreads further. We will visit, tell you honestly what the job involves and give you a free quotation.
